Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
Type 20 is a daily word game. We collect only what we need to run the game and save your progress. We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.
What we collect
- If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email address, first name and profile picture link, provided by Google when you choose to sign in.
- Your game progress and settings: scores, the answers you type in games, stats, streaks, ranks, the free games you've used, your display name, avatar colour, country and settings.
- Multiplayer: when you join a lobby or a match, your display name and moves are sent to the other players in that game. Lobby and match details aren't kept after the game ends.
- Technical information: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
How we use it
- To run the game, including multiplayer matches and lobbies.
- To save your progress to your account so it follows you to any device.
- To improve the game, for example by adding real words players typed that our lists were missing.
- To keep the game safe, for example by blocking offensive display names.
Storage on your device
The game saves your progress and settings in your browser's local storage so it works without an account. If you sign in, a sign-in key is also stored there. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Signing in with Google loads Google's sign-in service, which is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
Who we share it with
We use Cloudflare to host the game and store account data, and Google to sign you in. They handle data on our behalf. We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and saved progress until you delete your account. Sign-in sessions expire after 180 days without use.
Your choices
- Download your data: open Profile → Your data → Download my data.
- Delete your account: open Profile → Your data → Delete my account. This removes your account and saved progress from our servers.
- Play without an account: the Daily Challenge works without signing in, and your progress stays in your browser.
Children
Type 20 is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
